This book took me away, like a good book should. It is a nice vacation read. The characters were easy to believe and I felt as if I had traveled to Hawaii and the castle with them. The friendship/brotherhood bond was so strong, which is nice to see among men. I look forward to Philips next adventure, I'll be traveling right along with him. Jan, Lakeside, California

The release of To Silence the Mourning Wind couldn't have come at a better time. It's original plot and colorful characters make for a light, easy, summer-vacation-on-the-beach read. Too bad I devoured it before I got to the beach!

Well written, thoughtful, and tender, this book is a must read. Very nice effort on the author's part. I am a murder/mystery book person, but this book was a welcome change from that type of material. I read it in two days - couldn't put it down. Great job. Loved it.

To Silence The Mourning Wind was a true treat. The initial alternating storylines were captivating and I found myself anxious to skip chapters to stay with each storyline respectively. I'm glad I didn't. As the storylines merged, each chapter drew me into the next. I initially expected to read a couple of chapters the first night, but couldn't set it down until completed. Rarely is an author able to weave suspense and intrigue into a romantic tale that also provides such a positive message in the end. Sit down, read and enjoy!

I had no idea what to expect fom this book based on the title and now I can't imagine it being called anything else. I truly enjoyed this book as it was very easy to read, the characters were wonderful and the two stories came together so perfectly. You know you just read something special when you find yourself reflecting back on it a day later and you feel compelled to share it with your friends. Thank you Mr. Mooney!
